About Maria Perez

     Born in Caguas Puerto Rico and is a graduate of Inter American University in Nursing. She is an experienced critical care nurse currently working at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas.

     A recipient of the Civilian Commander’s Medal while performing her nursing duties, as critical care nurse in Gorgas Army Hospital Panamá, Central America, during Operation Just Cause. She is the proud mother of two young sons both graduates of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

      Inspired and business oriented she created the jewelry business Maria’s Silver Butterfly and her own website. As an amateur photographer, she does her own website photos.


Author and director of the screenplay He Has Risen a powerful Easter drama written for the Christian Servicemen Center in Panamá, editor and creator of The Vision a church newsletter.

She is the founder of Nikked Publications, Inc. of Puerto Rico, a company that created various publications among them the Medical Magazine Hospital 2001 and 2002, Advertisement Magazines, Memoirs Magazine and for which she is the author. Tropical Cooking Made Easy is her latest accomplishment and as with the same time and joy, she takes to cook her native dishes she also deliberated in composing this book with recipes and wit.
